Random thoughts. . . .

Our Presidential election is close this year (2012) and the nation is divided. I am a Democrat, always have been, and probably always will be. I have gotten about a thousand political emails from friends, family & acquaintances recently who aren’t Democrats. This is because I am old and I live in a Red State, (help — I am being held captive against my will), and I try to be somewhat positive about it all. The only hope for our country is that the people who “walked five miles to school in bare feet and liked it” and “held three jobs since the age of five and liked it”, will soon be in another astral plane.

It isn’t about Kansas, the Midwest or the United States.  The world is small & getting smaller.  It is time to think globally. Our Republican candidate insulted the people of Great Britain and Europe during his visit. Our Democratic candidate is loved worldwide. If the world got to vote for our President — President Obama would be a shoo-in.

OK, enough soap box.

We had a beloved dog named Rat. Rat was the quintessential Rat Terrier. It was all about the hunt for Rat — I can’t count the number of times that Rat dodged traffic on Central Street to find a new sweetheart. I have no idea how many puppies have tried to sue for paternity, but Rat was a real goer. After Rat escaped for about the hundredth time, I suggested to Gil, (my husband), that we ought to neuter Rat. Gil put up a fight, but once Mr. Rat was “fixed”, he lived to the ripe old age of 17. And, thankfully, didn’t get squashed on Central Street answering another “booty call”.

Vote for Senator Rat & Vote Often!

  1. I appreciate the eloquent endorsement.

Things look like a shoo-in for President Obama here in Boulder!
