Wonderful Family Christmas Cards from 50 Years Ago. How quickly time flies.

I received a surprise package in the mail today from a childhood friend who was visiting her 97 year old father. The connection point here is Winfield, KS. Her grandfather & grandmother were friends of the Kelley family as her grandparents were Dr. & Mrs. Wilmer. Her mother was Mrs. Josephine Wilmer Moore, a good friend of all of the Kelley girls. As my friend was going through her parent’s albums, she came across a bunch of our family (from the Kelley side) Christmas cards. She thoughtfully put them in the mail and voila! I decided to post them as a reminder of all of our Christmas’s past.

  4. Were we cute, or what? Thanks, Jan.

Brought back memories of how I lost my faith in Santa. One year all the cousins were in St. Louis. At bedtime, on Christmas Eve, the girls were loud and giggly. A deep voice yelled down from the third floor – “This is Santa. If you don’t shut up there’ll be no presents!” I ran into my parent’s room crying.

    Thanks, John!

  5. nothing says xmas like children and shotguns!

  6. So glad you got the cards and all are enjoying them. We enjoyed so much seeing them again. Tim and I were born the same day and the Mom’s I think were in the same hospital room in Winfield. One of the cards of Tim said on the back that Tim, the baby, sure would enjoy seeing a picture of baby Martha. I have wonderful memories of all these wonderful people! Happy New Year!

  7. Wait, John was Santa? What’s that all about? We are one cute family-Thank you for sharing-

  8. I love to see these old pictures of my dad!
